新闻 | 02.27.2024
Josh Alsip, director of community engagement at the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, shared the importance of WVLI to Wabash Valley community leaders.

The Wabash Valley Leadership Institute (WVLI), a partnership between the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC), is now enrolling for the next cohort.

Hosted on the campus of SMWC, the program brings together leaders from West Central Indiana for a week-long (Monday-Friday) event. 13个th cohort is scheduled for June 3 – 7. Counting the first cohort in November 2014, a total of 145 WVLI attendees have benefited from this week-long immersive residential experience.

马修·斯威夫特, data and grants coordinator at United Way of the Wabash Valley, is a 2023 WVLI graduate and shared the impact that WVLI had on him.

埃里克·哈伯德博士.D., director of master’s programs in business and leadership at SMWC, is excited about this year’s sessions. “WVLI continues to attract some of the most amazing leaders as well as emerging leaders in the Wabash Valley. We are always working to improve the subject matter to deliver to these students that is relevant to their experience today and to the ever-changing environment. No matter if you are involved in a business or a not-for-profit, you can benefit from WVLI.”

WVLI focuses on leadership skills with the intended effects of personal leadership growth, organizational behavioral skills and potential community growth in a leadership capacity.

埃里克·哈伯德博士.D., director of master’s programs at SMWC, is one of the faculty members who plan WVLI.

“The Wabash Valley Leadership Institute is a vital part of our efforts to attract and retain talented individuals in our community,” said Chamber Executive Director Kristin Craig, a 2015 graduate of WVLI. “We look forward to this partnership with Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College every year, and we love seeing the success stories of past cohort graduates.”

The program engages in various ways, including self-assessments, 讲座, case study review, 反射, team building and peer coaching. 毕业后, the participants will be capable of building a better team, using conflict resolution skills effectively and building personal leadership skills.

克里斯Lozier, executive director of admissions at SMWC, encourages anyone interested to visit the SMWC website.

Adult learners from Clay, 帕克, 普特南, 沙利文, Vermillion and Vigo counties are eligible to participate. 研究生s of WVLI will receive three credit hours toward the Master of Leadership Development program or the Master of Healthcare Administration program.
